美媒都看不下去了：美国只会泼华为的脏水(2)

“The race to 5G is on and America must win,” Trump said, noting that 92 5G markets will be ready by the end of the year, outpacing South Korea, which is on pace to have 48 markets live by the end of 2019.

特朗普在讲话中称，美国计划在年底前在92个市场推出5G网络，超过韩国的48个市场的计划，成为世界第一。

特朗普在讲话中还为实现这一目标提出了一些政策。

“It’s a race our great companies are now involved in,” Trump said. “According to some estimates, the wireless industry plans to invest $275 billion in 5G networks, creating 3 million American jobs quickly, and adding $500 billion to our economy.”

他强调，“美国公司已经投入了5G竞赛。美国无线通信产业未来预计在5G网络上投资高达2750亿美元，这将为美国创造300万个就业机会，为我们的经济增加5000亿美元”。

In his speech last week, Trump emphasized that the private sector needs to lead the way in building 5G networks across the United States. Mobile operators including Verizon and AT&T have started rolling out the networks in select cities, with limited success so far.

特朗普上周在演讲中强调，美国私人部门需要在建立5G网络方面起带头作用。包括Verizon和AT&T在内的移动运营商已开始在部分城市推出网络，但是迄今为止成效有限。

“Even carefully positioned a few feet away from the 5G node, the large on-screen icon exclaiming Verizon’s 5G network toggled back and forth from 4G to 5G,” CNET said.
