2015年的7月1日，尼古拉斯·温顿安详地走了，享年106岁。
一期关于温顿先生的节目中，写过这样几句话，现在读来，依然有着震撼人心的力量：
It is estimated that 11 million people perished in the Holocaust. It is thought over 1 million were children. As the war drew to a close, the Nazis tried to destroy all evidence and witnesses.
据估计有1100万人在这次屠杀中丧生，他们中约有100万是儿童。在战争结束的关头，纳粹几乎销毁了所有的罪证。
These efforts, along with the sheer scale of the killings, means the exact number of victims will never be known.
他们这些做法和大规模的杀戮，意味着受害者的准确数字可能永远不会被世人知晓。
But there is one number we know for sure, we know that 669 children escaped on the special transports. Because of Winton's actions, there are nearly 6,000 people alive today.
但是，有一个数字我们是确切知道的，那就是有669个孩子在这次特殊的运送逃出。因为温顿的义举，如今有近6000人活在了这个世上。
