韩国著名记者、主播，毕业于汉阳大学经济学院。他于1987年参加工作，直到1995年5月以KBS一线记者的身份工作。从1995年5月开始，洪起燮担任KBS新闻节目《新闻广角》主播。2002年3月，成为韩国最具影响力的代表性新闻节目《KBS九点新闻》的主播。2012年7月，洪起燮担任KBS报道局经济部部长。从2013年1月开始，主持KBS周日时事节目《周日诊断》。2014年5月，担任报道局采编主管。2014年8月在KBS重点地区总局光州电视总局担任总局长。2015年11月至今，任KBS国际中心主任（代表负责人）。

KBS于1927年以“京城广播台”的名字播出广播节目，韩国独立后的1947年成为国营首尔中央广播台。1961年开始播出电视节目，到1973年终于建立目前的“韩国放送公社”这一公共广电机制。据韩国国内一家机构的调查显示，KBS从2001年连续十几年一直是韩国最具影响力的媒体。

Hong Kisub is a famous reporter and anchorman. He graduated from the College of Economics and Finance, Hanyang University, South Korea. He started to work in 1987. From that time until May 1995, he worked as a first-line reporter for KBS. Starting from May 1995, Hong Kisub acted as an anchorman of the KBS News Program “KBS World News.” In March 2002, he became the anchorman of the representative news program with the most influential power “KBS Nine O'Clock News.” In July 2012, Hong Kisub started acting as the director of the Economic Department of the KBS Reporting Bureau. Starting from January 2013, he took charge of the KBS Sunday current events program “Sunday Diagnosis.” From May 2014, he worked as the supervisor in charge of collecting and editing in the Reporting Bureau of KBS. In August 2014, he began to work as the chief of the Kwangju Television Head Office — one of the key regional head offices of KBS. From November till now, he has been the director of the KBS International  Center (head of the representatives).

KBS started radio broadcasting as a radio station in Seoul in 1927. After South Korea became independent in 1947, KBS became a state-owned central broadcasting station in Seoul. It started to broadcast television programs in 1961. The KBS station status changed from governmental to the current public broadcasting corporation in 1973. According to the survey of an organization in South  Korea, KBS has been the most influential medium in South Korea for over ten consecutive years since 2001.
